November 2001 – Present

 

As a consultant to the International Finance Corporation, the private investment arm of the World Bank, is responsible for administering a 3000-user Lotus Notes R6.5 network spanning over 30 countries. Primary responsibility includes overseeing the introduction of new technologies to the Lotus Domino infrastructure. Responsible for the introduction of Lotus Sametime corporate-wide, as well as supporting a custom-designed Lotus Domino.Doc document management system and overseeing the Commvault Galaxy-based enterprise backup and recovery system. Introduced Clearswift’s MailSweeper for Domino to the infrastructure and implemented a strategy for greatly reducing SPAM email in the infrastructure, conducting the evaluation, testing and implementation of Ciphertrust’s Ironmail product. Responsibility for maintaining IFC’s Blackberry Enterprise Server infrastructure.

 

Lockheed Martin Corporation

May 2001 – November 2001

 

As Project Coordinator at Housing and Urban Development, responsibilities included overseeing help desk and server administration staff and implementing an enterprise-wide 4.57 -> R5 migration. The migration included server consolidation and clustering, an upgrade of the existing Trend Micro virus detection product to incorporate centralized configuration and definition updating, and the migration of applications to their own dedicated infrastructure.

 

 

DevElements, Inc.

May 2000 – May 2001

 

As Network Solutions Manager was responsible for planning, designing, implementing and overseeing the operation of the company’s internal network infrastructure. Served as senior technical consultant on all of firm’s consulting engagements, designing coexistence and integration plans as well as managing their implementation.

 

Served as Sr. Administrator for Freddie Mac’s Lotus Notes implementation. Responsible for day-to-day performance of a AIX-based Domino R5 clustered mail and application environment. Designed and implemented upgrade of all servers from R4.64 to R5.

 

As a senior consultant to a nationwide commercial real estate firm, oversaw direction of Notes/Domino mail and application infrastructure as well as managed internal administration staff.

 

 

Realogic Corporation / Computer Associates International

June 1998 – May 2000

 

As a senior consultant, served as project manager of a 7000-seat migration from both Lotus cc:Mail DB6 and DB8 to Lotus Notes/Domino 4.63 for a major client in the entertainment and publishing fields. This project encompassed over 70 sites and 100 cc:Mail post offices. Responsible for resource coordination as well as the technical direction during the course of this 6-month project. Implemented Lotus Sametime for instant messaging, online meetings and whiteboarding for over 1000 internal Computer Associates (CA) clients. Responsible for user administration as well as integration into existing CA Domino domains.

 

Served as architect of a Lotus Notes/Domino 5.02 infrastructure for a prominent Washington, DC law firm. Responsible for migrating from a non-fault-tolerant architecture serving more than 600 local and remote clients into a four-server environment employing to one employing Domino clustering, redundant SMTP servers as well as connections to external fax servers and document management systems. Responsible for certifying future client install images as well as implementing partitioned, Domino servers as a test environment in order to facilitate the upgrade of legacy Notes applications to R5.

 

Served as project manager for a 350-seat migration from Lotus cc:Mail DB8 to Microsoft Exchange 5.5 for an industry trade organization. Was responsible for overseeing labor and budget resource planning as well as performing technical design, implementation, and documentation duties.

 

Served as architect and administrator of a Lotus Notes/Domino infrastructure for a major industry trade organization. This network supported over 400 internal users via Notes client and over 1000 web-based external members. Employing Domino clustering in a Windows NT-based environment, this network not only hosted teamroom sites but a 24-hour emergency call center’s operations as well.

 

 

Student Loan Marketing Association (Sallie Mae)

January 1998 – June 1998

 

Served as senior administrator for a multi-site, 10,000-seat Lotus Notes/Domino mail installation. Responsibilities included not only day-to-day administration of this Solaris-based, clustered Domino 4.54 environment, but also managed the migration of all servers to Domino 4.61d and designed customized a customized client upgrade path to support this and future releases. In addition, was tasked with architecting the addition of application services to the existing Domino infrastructure.

 

 

MCI Telecommunications Corporation

January 1996 – February 1998

 

Served as senior engineer in the research and development lab for the executiveONE project. Responsibilities included PC hardware and software evaluations as well as the designing and implementation of standardized hardware and software PC platforms for deployment to the senior executives of MCI and British Telecom. Was also responsible for determining, documenting and implementing installation and migration procedures for the project.

 

Also played a major role in the integration of the MCI Mail mainframe-based mail system and Microsoft Exchange for this project as well as participating in beta test programs for U.S. Robotics/3Com, Microsoft, Cheyenne and Maclean. Assisted in the implementation of ArenaNet, the local area network solution for the MCI Center.

 

Served as administrator for MCImetro’s Lotus Notes 4.5 network. This four server, 1200 user network employed replication between three MCImetro sites in Virginia, Texas, and North Carolina, as well as many corporate sites in Washington, DC, Sioux City, and Colorado Springs. In addition, was responsible for maintaining connections with servers outside of the enterprise. This Notes network hosted many production applications, providing revenue flow for MCI’s local service initiatives.

 

In addition, performed Notes development for MCImetro. Was responsible for delivering a calendaring & scheduling application that is currently used by over 1000 users, as well as developing many applications to specific design requirements. Additionally, was tasked with migrating many existing Notes databases to the world-wide-web using Lotus’s Domino server technology.

 

Also responsible for providing PC technical support to executives at MCImetro and their assistants. Not only performed hardware and software configuration, but was responsible for providing these “high-profile” users with insight and education on the latest technological innovations.

 

 


Cable & Wireless, Inc.

November 1995 – January 1996

 

Served as administrator of a 300-user network, comprised of six OS/2 LAN Server 4.0 servers, two Windows NT servers, two DEC VAX minicomputers, as well as three Lotus Notes 3.3 (OS/2-based) servers. Was responsible for system security and data integrity, creating and maintaining login scripts, performing virus checks, as well as performing system backups and recovery.

 

Also responsible for development on CWI’s Lotus Notes-based ASPRN system, as well as designing a Notes-based help desk/trouble ticket system for the Engineering Help Desk and creating World Wide Web pages for the group. Performed installations and upgrades of operating systems such as OS/2 Warp and Windows for Workgroups on user machines as well as installing software such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Mail. Was also responsible for providing technical support (Help Desk/trouble tickets) to over 300 users for CWI-installed hardware and software.

March 1994 – November 1995

 

As a consultant to MCImetro, was one of two technicians providing technical support (Help Desk/trouble tickets) to over 250 on- and off-site users of MCImetro-installed hardware and software. Responsible for all aspects of new hardware installation, upgrades, and repairs, as well as installation of software such as Lotus Notes, eXceed (X-Windows server), Novell LanWorkplace, Procomm Plus for Windows, Microsoft Office, and Lotus Smartsuite. Was tasked with designing a Lotus Notes-based database to track MCImetro computer inventory. In addition, performed secondary LAN administration functions.

 

As a consultant to the US Navy SUBMEPP division, tasked with designing a suite of Lotus Notes applications to control work flow and project management. In addition, designed and implemented a Lotus Notes-based news retrieval system.

 

Served as LAN administrator for a Novell 3.11 network, Lotus Notes 3.3 administrator, Window 3.11 Administrator, as well as cc:Mail administrator. Was responsible for system security and data integrity, creating and maintaining login scripts, performing virus checks, as well as performing system backups and recovery. Performed Lotus Notes database development, developing and maintaining Aspen’s staff extension/recruitment database system. Was also tasked with new hardware installation, upgrades, repairs, and software installation, as well as providing technical support (Help Desk/trouble tickets) to over 25 users on a day to day basis for all installed hardware and software. Developed and as well as assisted other users in developing tailor-made batch files, macros and utilities for customizing user software.

Served as LAN administrator on a 40-user Novell 2.X network. Responsible for system security and data integrity, creating and maintaining login scripts, performing virus checks, installing and maintaining hardware and software such as Lotus 1,2,3, WordPerfect 5.1, dBase III+, and Borland Quattro Pro, as well as performing system backups and recovery. Also responsible for designing and implementing Macintosh-based network specifically for publishing the school’s weekly student newspaper.
